Description: Kev, you can help me out on this one! The background was darkened purely with the shadow tool on Picasa (you can still see a bit of the stem at the rhs. How much easier and more effective would using p/s be? This is my first attempt at changing background colour, the picture was taken outside so only natural light was used and I just highlighted a few areas.

Description: I took a lot of pictures of the cloud formations this day as some were quite tornado-shaped! As the small mound you see on the left of the picture was once a volcano, (Largo Law - now extinct) I thought the clouds resembled small puffs of smoke coming from the mound.

Description: I missed the setting of the moon and had to be content with these as consolation. This particular shot has been sharpened to highlight the texture of the sand. The seaweed root looks vaguely finger-like!

Description: Out snapping on a bitterly cold day, here in the East Neuk of Fife and managed to capture the harbour at Anstruther just as light was falling, got to grips with the polariser and think the effect was quite successful.

Description: This picture was taken this morning from my garden. It's another portrait mode for a landscape but I thought the columnar shape of the pine tree worked for this.
