Took the chance to capture to capture some flowers whilst visiting my friend in Auchtertool! Hoping to capture the wildlife next in her adjoining field (on camera only, that is!) BUFFALO - you better believe it!

Yvonne, I prefer this pic of your two flower uploads....simply because the colour is more stunning, you've chosen a more interesting (ie: backside) perspective, and also it's got a nice sharp central focus that draws my eye in.


I would have cropped the frame a bit differently tho. It's a bit too tight to the flower on the right and top/bottom...with too much space on the left.


Remember, when shooting flowers - always allow enough room (ie: backup a little bit) so that you've got some play area to work with later on in pp. IF you go in too close with the camera, you won't have much composition option when back home on the computer.

Thanks Kev, I too liked this view of the poppy - the flower heads were huge but hadn't opened out yet and this reminded me of a large fan. I'll remember your hints for next time - thanks again Smile

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
