This is a pre-sunrise shot from North Stradbroke Island, in Moreton Bay, just off the coast of Brisbane.
This was probably about 10-15 mins before sunrise.
I really like this shot, what do you think of it? I'm keen on some feedback.

My favorite! The colors are great, the focus is wonderful, and the composition is excellent. The two big rocks sort of lead your eye out to the ocean. And the ripples around the smaller ones are interesting. I also find the curve of the water cool. What type of lens did you use?

Hi Beth, this was my fave lens, the EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II. It's an absolute ripper of a lens.

Beautiful Blue Hour shot, Honez. the best sunrise shots are done between 10 and 20 minutes before the sun peeks from the horizon. The same as sunsets. You get bluer skies if done between 10 and 20 minutes after the sun sets.

And you have one lovely lens there.

Nice colours of course and composition.
Just one critical comment...the foreground rocks look as tho they have been cut out n pasted onto the image. There's that cut-out edge vibe happening there. My eyes picked up in it straight away.
Where are the Moreton Bay bugs? Smile

Yep, agree 100% with your cutout comment Kev, but that's exactly as it was. It looked unnatural at 100% but that's what's it is. Not a lot I can do about it. Just the natural edge of the rock.

Nice, surreal look. Was there some HDR processing in this one? I think the rock "edge" effect is more of a halo than anything else.
