I was going for the silhouette look but it came out a little fuzzy aroundd the edges of the silhouette. Suggestions please Smile

Well, let's think about this logically for a moment...


The figure is kinda blurred, and so is the far background...so two things could be a happening here.


First off, your shutter speed is only 1/20s...so unless you used a tripod...it would be difficult to get a sharp image hand-held.


IF a tripod was used...then obviously you didn't actually focus the camera on the fisherman, but probably just past him. Either way, you need to focus right on your subject.


At dusk/sunset like this a tripod is essential - so that you can use a slower shutter speed.


Also, to make the shot much better overall - you need to use a smaller F/stop - say f11 or higher, to obtain a much greater DOF....which again, in this light will definitely require a tripod.


Here's a kind of similar sillouette foreground shot at sunset that I took a couple of weeks back....using 1/s at f/22, with a tripod.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
