There's certainly some amazing scenery in Utah.
However, you really have to study the differences in luminosity right across the entire vista to get these type of shots really good.
The foreground rock area is too dark and needs some D-lighting boost, plus the background is blown out somwhat in the top left corner. A polarizer is also a must for a landscape like this...to bring out the skies so much more.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
