Very good - great colours! Are the boys brothers? - they look alike. I never quite know if you should stick to the rule of placing subjects in the left-hand side of the frame - but this still works for me. Smile Happy pic!

well, when I got to the place they already there. and since it still works for you still the same for me. and I believe that in Photography we need to make our own style in order to express our self as an artist. Photography sometimes is not about the rule its about what you feel.

I don't think there's any rule about putting stuff on the left. What I do think is a good idea is that if there's any movement in the picture or strong compositional elements such as a beam of light. Then it works better to have the movement from left to right. This is because we, the westerners that is, read words from left to right. So it is more natural for us to 'read' a picture from left to right. Whether the opposite is true for people who read from right to left I don't know. Perhaps someone who does would like to comment.


In the studio I will always put my main light on the left unless there is a very good reason not to.
