Booze bottles. Yes, I guess they do look beautiful after one has drunk all the contents - LOL!!!!!!!! Smile


IF you are going to capture a closeup (but deep) object shot like this...you need to use a much smaller aperture...something like f/22, in order to get a far better depth of field.


And use a tripod.


In our area we have homeless folks who wander around the local neighborhood collecting these bottles, etc for recycling. They are called "Binners"

Unfortunately this pic doesn't really do a lot for me. From a technical perspective, like Kev says the DoF doesn't really work. With a subject like this you've got two choices, which are mutually exclusive. Either setup so the whole thing's in focus and tell their story through the composition, angles and lighting, or go the other end of the spectrum, and reduce the the DoF to bring the viewers eye to one particular aspect of the scene that says something to you.
In this pic, neither extreme has been reached and it looks like a shot of someone's empties after a night on the turps.
Something that's also rather unfortunate from my perspective, is the label that seems to be the focus of the pic ends in 'hite'. Whenever I see it, I can't help thinking it's missing an 'S'.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
