Upon Geoff's advise I have straightened up the horizon. What d'ya reckon Geoff?

It looks much better horizon wise, but it looks a bit blurred now, I think you have accidentally resized the jpeg. You need to go back to the original scan and start again.


Whenever you resize a jpeg, even a little bit, the sharpness goes to pot. You can try and save it with the 'unsharp mask' filter but it is much better to start again.


That is why I recommend that you work on a tiff file rather than a jpeg which will not blur when you resize it, unless you resize it upwards of course. Then make a jpeg at the output size after you have made all your adjustments.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
