Kind of interesting...altho, I must admit...I'm not really a fan of macro shots like this....simply because I love detail, and with 1:1 images there is usually such a tiny part in focus. I've never appreciated such a shallow DOF, as it's completely contrary to the natural viewing experience.


However, each to their own of course. From a purely technical standpoint...I think the water droplet should be really sharp with great clarity to pull this shot off.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
