This photo is not intended to be a great still-life shot...it's just a quick take to show you what has to be the largest pine cone that I've ever found.
It's just over 11 inches long and 7 inches wide!!!

I love the way the light falls on the tomato. It looks like you're using light boxes, right?


I would really hate to be standing under that tree when this thing fell.

Yes, I always use a soft, diffused, low light source with my studio still-life shots.

Hey Kev, I have a pine cone exactly the same ! Not sure if it is as big as yours tho.. tomorrow I'll go and see if I can find where it's hiding in my little shed and measure it.. Smile


hehe might even take a pic of it with a tomato and orange !!

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
