Veins on a leaf. Some people (not from the "Deep South") night never have heard of it, but around here it's simply called a "Poke Salad Leaf" :-)

Hey, Beth!


This is a perfect chance for you to learn to use your Cloning tool!


I would bring this photo into your photo editing software and slowly remove all the black grit from the leaf. Because of the unique pattern of the leaf, it would be a great way to build up your cloning muscle.


Also, with an F-stop of 2.8, you got a slight softening off to the left side. It's not unpleasant, however, I think that once you clean the photo up, (subtly) enrich the colors a bit, and give the whole thing a slight sharpening... you would take a very interesting piece and make it pop.

Thank you! I'll do that. Um, i had to use 2.8 because my camera wouldn't focus that close unless I put it on Super Macro Sad I'll try the idea though!

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
