I like the idea of what you're trying to capture here, but they're all a little bit too soft/out of focus. You might want to try with a faster shutter and manual focus to nail the sharpness.

thanks honez for the comment. very challenging subject to shoot. can only use manual focus, and can really only focus on the base of the fire. then have to recompose the shot to get the flames. threw away over 50 shots that were from just this one fire that underexposed due to fast shutter speeds (trying to stop the flames) or poor focus. still learning the post-processing as well.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
