The centre is nice...pity the rest of the Echinachea flower isn't in the best of shape. Try to always find a "perfect" specimen coz all flaws really show up in a photo. Also, take the time to position yourself the best...so that the background is not distracting, etc...like the brick wall here. Often, it's just a case of moving a few inches to change the backdrop.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
