OK, here's my test upload using the Flood plugin.
It seems like a neat tool...with quite a variety of parameters...allowing one to manipulate the image a lot.
The one positive aspect is that it doesn't appear to degredate the IQ of the image at all.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
