I think this shot's pretty good! There's several things I would do though. First, at this point, it looks a little blown up, or not really clear.... I think you should add some special effects to enhance the look of the picture. If you have Photoshop, I would recommend applying a "Paint" look to the photo. then try the unsharp mask, and also dropping in a new sky. Otherwise.... great job!

Yes, there are a few technical elements that obviously need improving...however, the dash of colour and the overall 'feel' definitely creates that 'past era' nostalgic vibe - for me.

Just to add to the Kev comment...keeping baby's colors says that the new generation is leaving this retro world. So, the idea is good but as Beth and Kev said there is a lot to do on the performance Smile

I usually don't like selective color, but it really works for this portrait. I love it!
