I was lucky....a friend offered to let me borrow his 70-300 Tamron lens for the week. I won't need it for the full week, but I'm going to use it somewhat over the weekend. Here it is on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Tamron-70-300mm-4-0-5-6-Digital-Cameras/dp/B003YH9DZ4


Pricey, right? A little bit out of my range for a while yet... maybe something to work for over the summer...


Anyhow... to the photo. This was (of course) taken with the lens.... I know the rose should be more in focus, and I may try that again when the rain stops. This was outdoors, but I like the soft light that almost seems to be directly overhead...

Hi Both . Not really the best lens for this type shot unless you have a tripod and it is indoor keeping everything steady. The soft light when it is overcast is good time though.

Hi Beth. I bought this lens last year and it lasted just a week on me. I dont know it it was just me but it gave a little magenta color casting on my 50D that I have to keep changing my cam's picture style every time I use it. The 70-200mm L f/4 USM IS is still the best for your black box. Might cost a little more than the Tamron but its the lens that your camera would love to get married with. Its the lens for keeps.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
