I was talking to somebody recently who was saying how much they hated this kind of blurred water shot. I think it's brilliant, I can't get enough of this kind of shot. The only thing is that if the water is going to be blurred then I think everything else needs to be sharp if possible, especially the foreground, but I do realise that that bit of blur at the bottom is most likely due to movement not DOF.


I expect you have already agonised over how to crop the picture, so it's no use saying how I would crop it without seeing the original.

Thanks Geoff. Funny enough my wife dislikes the blurred water effect.
Depth of field was good but was i think about a 25 second exposure so some movement in foilage would have occured.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
