More Waterfall Attempts

I spent a few hours cavorting in this waterfall trying to get some good pictures. The difficult of this waterfall placement is that the only way to take a picture of it is to be in the waterfall. So, barefooted, I was crawling around on slippery, mossy rocks and slodging through mud with my camera. All in all, it was a lot of fun and I think the new pictures turned out well. They are darker which lends to the cooler, shaded feel of the waterfall. I also tried to use the rocks on the bank as my "something sharp." I don't know how well they served that purpose. Are they a bit on the blue side? Larger they don't seem to be so blue, but minimized they appear to be.


Anyhow, please let me know what you think

Personally, I dig this type of water effect. It has a very soothing vibe to it. I guess from a technical standpoint the photo could be a bit brighter...but I like the 'dusk' kind of feel to it. Yes, the rocks are bluey/black...however, it seems to fit right in with the overall colour scheme, etc. It would probably be better 'IF' the rocks in the forground were very sharp to create a focus point...altho, I'm not sure that really matters here.

Yes it's too blue, too dark and not really sharp enough in the foreground. But it's getting there. Go back and do one more shot from the same place as this but tilt the camera to get an upright shot. Make sure you focus on the foreground and use the smallest aperture you can. Take several shots at different exposures, over and under, then be prepared to correct the colour in Photoshop or whatever you have.


Do it all right and you will have a sensational shot to frame and mount over the fireplace. Don't give up now you're nearly there.

I think its looks good and really felt a nice and calm cooling effect to mind. I think it will be better if lighted up somewhat.

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
