Artist making a traditional idol for Goddess Durga at Kumortuli .(Kumortuli )


Conventional Bengali Durga image with all five Gods and Goddesses and Mahisasura under one structure. This is known as "ek-chala" (ek=one, chala=cover).

I was just watching the games from Delhi...and I saw one of these displays outside the stadium. My family has long ties with India, and we love the country. At the same time, I do think your traditions are both the most colourful & exotic on Earth....but also wild & bizarre too Smile


This image is just a tad too bright...it's needs a 'little' levels adjustment to balance the mid-range, etc.
