Nothing too spectacular, just a simple Crocus from the front garden. It's extremely windy here right next to the ocean today...
However, I did manage to find one specimen that was relatively still quite decent.

It's that time of year again, Kev! I love seeing all your flowers!! I like this version best of the two. It has the stacked version, and the close up. I like that about it. You did a great job!

Hi Beth...Actually, it's not a stacked image...I just used a regular, single shot at f/22 on this one. However, f/22 at this distance does provide a good/adequate depth of focus.

Okay, now I'm a bit confused :/ Why did f/22 on the other shot have such a short depth of field, while on this on it is quite clear? You are further away, I think, but I didn't think it would make that much difference!

Yes, the distance (ratio) makes all the difference.

For example.
When shooting macro 1:1 at f/22 (with a 100mm lens)...there is only about a 2mm Depth of field obtained. Whilst shooting a lot further back (say at 1:8 ratio or more)...f/22 will create a much larger depth of focus.

Once you get into the macro range (ie: 1:2 or 1:1 etc)...the DOF becomes way smaller.

Love the match of the outer and inner sections of the flower on the same picture
Very clear. Well done
