Good detail of Mr. Cricket. I like the reflection... what is that surface? It almost looks like black enamel paint. My main suggestion would be to do something with the background... it's a little distracting for me. Perhaps toning it down with a dark color would help.

Hi Clem ....The cricket is sat on a blue shiny window sill the background is a white wall just below the window .....the pic was taken very quickly as you can imagine the cricket did not stay around for long .....but I do agree about toning it down somehow I appreciate your comments

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
