Good atempt at star trails Beth .You can not see the corn.
Set your camera up for the star trails . then when you camera shutter is open
get a torch and light up the corn from behind the camera if possible.That way the light from the torch will give you some details in the corn

if you watch this one he is using something like a off camara flash to generate foreground detail .keep trying .When it is dark here it is to cold to stand about waiting for time lapse shots LOL

If your monitor is calibrated properly you should see sixteen distinct tones from white to black.
