I got a Canon EOS 1D Mark III as a gift from my husband and as a beginner ,this is my first DSLR ,was using a film camera before now,i can't seem to get the best out of the camera yet. I have been studing the manual ,can someone help make it easier for me?

wow. thats a professional camera your husband gave you. he must love you so much in spending that amount for a camera. congrats on your new cam. i cant help you with that one since i only got a finepix s9600 im still saving up for a canon 40d and i think it would take me a year before i can buy one. a universal advice is to understand basic function of your camera. read the manual everyday and always bring your camera around. that way if you think of something/techniques you can apply it right away than wait until you can get home and use your camera.

Try going to Canon's web page. You can find tons of info on using cameras.
http://www.canon.usa.com or just canon.com
